Who can apply ?

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The Youth Sounding Board aims to be diverse and inclusive of a range of opinions and experiences from across age groups, areas of interest and expertise, gender, socio-economic backgrounds, and geographic regions.

The Youth Sounding Board aims to be diverse and inclusive of a range of opinions and experiences from across age groups, areas of interest and expertise, gender, socio-economic backgrounds, and geographic regions. To ensure diversity, all young and motivated Nepalis are welcome to apply. Candidates with special needs, disabilities, in situations of vulnerability, orfrom minority groups, and candidates having attended government schools are encouraged to apply.

For the Youth Sounding Board, we are looking for young people:

  • Between the ages of 18 and 26 years

  • Able to commit their time for a period of 15 months from selection

  • Proven spirit of volunteerism and community involvement, and a passion for creating hange at the community/national level

  • Willingness to travel to rural areas in assigned districts

  • Ability to speak and write in Nepali; English will only be considered an added value.

Note: Participation in the Youth Sounding Board is voluntary and unpaid. However, when Youth Sounding Board members are invited to participate in physical events, travel and accommodation costs will be covered by the European Union Delegation to Nepal and/or project partners. Mobile data costs for participation in online meetings will be covered as well.

Application process

Applications can be submitted online via a special call on Youth Sounding Board Nepal’s Facebook page and the European Union Delegation to Nepal’s Facebook, Instagram, and X pages. Applications open in June and close in July. Every year, approximately 25 young people from across the country are selected to be part of the YSB.

The selection process will be conducted in two stages:

  • First stage: Applications will be evaluated, and all candidates will be informed whether they have been shortlisted or not.

  • Second stage: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.

  • Final results: All shortlisted candidates will be informed whether they have been selected for the Youth Sounding Board or not.
